After retiring from international competition, Raina reportedly asked the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association and the Board of Control for Cricket in India for a No Objection Certificate.

“I wish to play cricket for around two to three years more. A lot of good players are there in the Uttar Pradesh domestic team now and doing really well. I have obtained NOC from UPCA as well,” Raina was quoted in Dainik Jagran’s report.

Notably, a cricket player who is actively competing in India must resign in order to play in international leagues and seek such opportunities. Known as “Mr. IPL,” Raina struggled to find any buyers at the player auction for the 2022 IPL since the CSK supporter had to join the experts for commentary.
