Orange alert issued for Mumbai by IMD, heavy rain likely

An orange alert was issued for Mumbai and Thane by the Mumbai Regional Meteorological Center. According to the IMD, strong to very intense rain is forecast in Mumbai, Kalyan, Thane, and Navi Mumbai until 1 pm today.

An orange alert was issued for Mumbai and Thane by the Mumbai Regional Meteorological Center. According to the IMD, strong to very intense rain is forecast in Mumbai, Kalyan, Thane, and Navi Mumbai until 1 pm today.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said that moderate to heavy rain is expected in Mumbai and its suburbs today with a possibility of very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places.

Occasional gusty winds reaching 45-55 kmph are very likely, BMC said.

A red alert has been issued for Kolhapur, Palghar, Nashik, Pune, and Ratnagiri districts for heavy rains until July 14 as the state begins to experience severe monsoons.

For the following three days, Mumbai is under an orange alert. In the middle of a lot of rain, a high tide struck Marine Drive in Mumbai on Tuesday.
