Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt bonded like a house on fire on Koffee With Karan 7. Yesterday (July 7), the first episode of Koffee With Karan 7 premiered on Disney + Hotstar. The episode, hosted by Karan Johar, was packed with candid confessions and interesting revelations. Right from their married lives to professional lives, Ranveer and Alia spoke about everything under the sun. During a segment called Koffee Bingo, Ranveer revealed the reason why he was dropped from Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet.

‘MY STAR VALUE WASN’T HIGH’

While playing Koffee Bingo, Ranveer Singh said he was not rejected for Bombay Velvet but he was instead dropped from the Anurag Kashyap directorial. Eventually, Ranbir Kapoor starred in the 2015 film with Anushka Sharma. Unfortunately, the film failed to perform at the box office.

Coming back to Ranveer’s revelation, the actor said, “I was not rejected, K (Karan Johar). I was unceremoniously dropped because at the time I couldn’t justify the budget. My star value wasn’t high. But things have changed.”

WHAT’S NEXT FOR RANVEER?

On the work front, Ranveer was last seen in Jayeshbhai Jordaar with Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah. Next, the actor will be featuring in Cirkus, directed by Rohit Shetty. Ranveer will be seen alongside Pooja Hegde and Varun Sharma.

Ranveer also has Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani lined up in the pipeline. The film has been directed by Karan Johar and it will also feature Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi. Lastly, the actor has signed up for the Hindi remake of the Tamil film, Anniyan.
