India won the first ODI by 10 wickets and broke several records in the process. Rohit Sharma hit his 250th six during his innings. He is topping the six-hitting list among Indians with MS Dhoni second on it with 229 sixes in ODIs. The pair of Rohit and Dhawan also notched up their 18th 100-plus partnership in ODIs.

It was a complete performance from the Indian team who bounced back with vengeance after the Test match loss at Edgbaston. Meanwhile, England’s white-ball game was found wanting after their “Bazball” approach helped them win the Test match at Edgbaston.

“Very tough day to take, but we’ve got to dust ourselves down quickly. Little surprised by the movement, bit muggy. India exposed the conditions superbly. They have bowled really well in the powerplay. It is something we need to discuss and work out. We have some guys in the form of their lives in Tests coming here and getting nicked off “ said Buttler.
