VVS Laxman, who coached Team India in the first Twenty20 International against England on Thursday, praised his players after a convincing victory. The tourists defeated Jos Buttler and company by 50 runs to take a 1-0 advantage in the three-match series.

The Men in Blue bowled well to protect the target after batting first and scoring 198-8. Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal each took two wickets as England was bowled out for 148 runs in 19.3 overs.

Pandya batted first, scoring 51 off 33 balls with six fours and a six, and then took four crucial wickets, including Jason Roy, Dawid Malan, Liam Livingstone, and Sam Curran. No prizes for guessing who was named player-of-the-match.

Pandya says he enjoys his game and devotes a lot of time to his fitness.

“Right now, I am enjoying my cricket.” For me, a significant amount of time is spent preparing my body. I want to capitalize on the opportunities created by the break I took before this run of play. “I felt like I needed that break,” Pandya said after the match.

VVS Laxman Praises Team India Approach:

VVS Laxman was pleased with India’s overall performance and singled out Hardik, who also shone with the bat.

The former batter  VVS Laxman wrote on Twitter:

“Fabulous win last night! Proud of the way the boys approached the match right from the start and came out on top of it. Batters were fearless and bowlers very clinical. Special mention to @hardikpandya7 for a brilliant all-round performance.”

When India takes on England in the second T20I, they will be favoured to win the series. With Hardik Pandya in excellent form with both bat and ball, India will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the shortest format and secure a famous victory.
