A boy was allegedly shot at by two bike-borne assailants, including his girlfriend’s father, in Purnia, Bihar, on Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Kunal, a resident of the Khushkibagh Bageshwar Colony.
The incident took place when the boy was returning to his home on his bike. The two accused came from behind, stopped and shot him in his thigh. The victim fell to the ground.
Hearing the gunshots, locals rushed to the spot and took Kunal to the Government Medical College Hospital for treatment.
On receiving the information, police reached the hospital. In his complaint, Kunal told the police that one of the accused was his girlfriend’s father, Munna Paswan, while he could not recognize the other person on the bike.
He also revealed that Paswan had, in January 2021, filed a kidnapping complaint against him for which he was sent to jail. He got out on bail just 20 days ago. Since then, he has been being threatened repeatedly by the girl’s father.
A case was registered and an investigation has been initiated.
