After Cannes, Deepika Padukone to visit Tirupati temple with family on father Prakash’s birthday


After spreading her magic in Cannes, Deepika Padukone is back to her family. She will reportedly visit the Tirupati temple with her family on her father Prakash Padukone’s birthday on June 10.

It was indeed a proud moment for Indians and Indian cinema lovers as Deepika Padukone represented the country on the international stage in Cannes. She was on jury duty at the 75th Cannes Film Festival in France. She left us stunned with her appearances at the French Riviera. The actress had attended the festival as a member of an eight-member jury responsible for giving away the top prizes at the prestigious festival. Well, she is back home now with her family. The superstar, along with her parents and sister Anisha, will visit the Tirupati temple, a family ritual that the Padukones have followed for years. They will make this trip on the occasion of her father, Prakash Padukone’s birthday.

She will be visiting the Tirupati temple with them. Sources said, “After a choc-o-bloc few days, India’s Numero Uno, will take some time off to unwind with her family, celebrate her father’s birthday and seek blessings together in Tirupati.” Deepika Padukone is very close to her family, and she has been a part of every special occasion.


Cannes returned after a gap of two years owing to the novel coronavirus pandemic. The 75th Cannes Film Festival commenced on May 17. Deepika Padukone walked the red carpet in a gold and black saree at the opening ceremony. She was a part of the jury at the prestigious film festival. This time, Cannes celebrated Indian cinema. India was chosen as the first ‘country of honour’ at Marche du Cinema, and on the opening day, a delegation from India, led by I&B Minister Anurag Thakur, walked the red carpet. The delegation included AR Rahman, Pooja Hegde, Shekhar Kapur, among others.

This year, six films from India were screened at the Cannes Film Market. These included Rocketry The Nambi Effect (Hindi, English, Tamil), Godavari (Marathi), Alpha Beta Gamma (Hindi), Boomba Ride (Mishing), Dhuin (Maithili) and Niraye Thathakalulla Maram (Malayalam). The poster for the 53rd International Film Festival of India was also unveiled during the inaugural ceremony. IFFI will take place in Goa this year. Union Minister Anurag Thakur also invited Cannes to IFFI Goa this year.
